Five cops among seven killed in Afghan attack

Five policemen and two civilians, including a child, died in a car bomb attack in Afghanistan's Kandahar city Sunday.

"A car bomb (attack) carried out by the enemies and hit Kandahar city at noon today (Sunday) claimed the lives of seven people, including two civilians and five policemen," the Kandahar provincial government said in a statement.

The former Taliban stronghold is 450 km from Kabul.

Nineteen others others were injured, Xinhua reported. A child is among those killed, the statement said.

Kandahar Governor Tooryali Weesa condemned the attack.

    Four days ago marked two decades since Ratko Mladic became the commander of the main staff of the army of Republika Srpska - the VRS. On that day, Mladic began his full participation in a criminal endeavour that was already in progress. On that day, he assumed the mantle of realising through military might the criminal goals of ethnically cleansing much of Bosnia. On that day he commenced his direct involvement in serious international crimes.
