Cape Town - Tiger Woods revealed he has recovered from an injury at will tee off at the BMW Championship this week.
Last week, the 15-time major winner withdrew from the Northern Trust after an opening round of 75. Later, he revealed it was a mild oblique strain that forced him off the course.
To be fair, he's earned the right not to take any chances with his body.
But after some treatment, Woods revealed he was feeling better and he will "give it a go" at the Medinah Country Club.
It's an important week for Woods' FedEx Cup chances, as he needs a solo 11th finish or higher to seal a spot at East Lake's Tour Championship, according to .
"I feel good," said the world number six.
"Feel a lot better than I felt last week. Felt good this morning, so I thought I'd give it a go."This cautious attitude is supported by Woods' long-time agent Mark Steinberg, who backed up his decision to withdraw last week.
"He's being smart," Steinberg told .
"I've said in the past, years ago, he just would have continued to play through all of this. If he had the same mentality he had years and years ago, he wouldn't be playing golf at all right now."
After a scheduled pro-am round on Wednesday, Woods is set to tee off with American Billy Horschel and CT Pan from Chinese Taipei on Thursday.
