TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Feb. 15 (PIA) - The Civil Service Commission (CSC) is now accepting nominations for the 2020 Honor Awards Program (HAP)which gives due recognition to government officials and employees who have displayed their outstanding performance.
Valnizan Calubaquib, CSC information officer, said HAP aims to motivate and inspire employees to improve the quality of their performance and instill deeper involvement in public service.
The awards, which has three categories namely, Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award (PLB), CSC Pagasa Award (CSC-PA)and the Dangal ng Bayan Award (DBA)are the highest honors that a government worker may receive in his lifetime with a special package of benefits such as cash incentives, trophies, medlas plaques as well as scholarship and promotion opportunities.
The PLB is conferred to an individual or group of five members for exceptional or extraordinary contributions resulting from an idea or performance that has nationwide impact on public interest, security and patrimoby while the CSC PA is conferred to individual or group of five members for their outstanding contribution/s resulting from an idea or performance that directly benefited more than one department of the government.
The DBA is conferred to an individual for his or her performance of an extraordinary act or public service and consistent demonstration for exemplary ethical behavior on the basis of observance of the eight norms of conduct under RA 6713 namely commitment to public interest, professionalism, justness and sincerity, political neutrality, responsiveness to the public, nationalism and patriotism, commitment to democracy and simple living.
Qualified nominees are appointive officials and employees holding permanent, temporary, co-terminous, contractual and casual status employment in the government whether stationed in the Philippines or abroad.
Elective and appointive barangay officials and employees may also be nominated. Posthumous award may also be made for a public servant who died in the line of duty or in the pursuit of his official duties and responsibilities as a civil servant.
To be qualified, the nominee should have rendered at least three years of continuous government service as of the deadline of the nominations' submission and with a performance rating of Very Satisfactory or its equivalent for six semesters or three annual rating period.
CSC has just released the revised guidelines for the search of which HAP Forms which can be downloaded from HAP webpage at www.csc.gov.ph.
Nominations can be submitted to any CSC field or regional office not later than the last working day of March 2020.
Meanwhile, CSC also coached nominees, Human Resources staff and those who will be deeply involved in the preparation of the nomination scrapbook, through a one day Writeshop Assistance. (BME/GVB/PIA-Cagayan)
