BEIJING, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

NEW DELHI -- The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in India Thursday morning rose to 5,732,518, India's federal health ministry said.
During the past 24 hours, 86,508 new cases were reported from across the country. Besides this 1,129 deaths were also recorded.

SEOUL -- South Korea reported 125 more cases of the COVID-19 as of 0:00 a.m. Thursday local time compared to 24 hours ago, raising the total number of infections to 23,341.
The daily caseload stayed above 100 for two straight days due to the continued cluster infections in Seoul and its surrounding Gyeonggi province traceable to church services and a massive rally held in central Seoul on Aug. 15.

HANOI -- Vietnamese businesses exported nearly 850 million medical masks in the first eight months of this year, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
More than 70 enterprises exported over 135 million medical masks in August alone, local daily newspaper Vietnam News cited the department's data as reporting on Thursday.

WELLINGTON -- New Zealand reported three new cases of COVID-19 as Auckland, the country's largest city, embraced the first day of relaxed restrictions on Thursday.
Auckland eased restrictions on gatherings, moving down from COVID-19 Alert Level 2.5 to 2, which means that gathering restrictions will be loosened from 10 to 100 people.
