GUJRAT, Pakistan - According to sources, police raided the home of former Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi in Gujrat early Wednesday.
According to officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity, a large contingent of police raided the Zahoor Elahi mansion and detained the house's security guards.
The sources said police stormed into the house using a ladder. They did, however, leave after searching the house.
The police department has yet to confirm or deny the raid.
Elahi, on the other hand, confirmed the raid and stated that the police searched and harassed his employees.
"We were not informed about the raid. We will file a lawsuit in response to the raid on our home, "Elahi stated.
Several former and current Elahi associates are being investigated following the end of his tenure as Punjab Chief Minister.
Last week, Punjab's anti-corruption watchdog arrested Elahi's former principal secretary, Mohammad Khan Bhatti, for allegedly receiving massive amounts as bribes.
