DHAKA, Bangladesh - Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina declared on Wednesday that the World Bank had acknowledged its mistake of making false accusations against the government regarding corruption in the Padma Bridge project. During her recent visit to the World Bank's headquarters in Washington DC, Hasina discussed the matter. She expressed her strong displeasure over the World Bank's deliberate act of falsely accusing the government of corruption in constructing the Padma Bridge.
"(In my speech), I stated unequivocally that I will never support any evil purpose that diminishes the dignity of the people of Bangladesh," she said.
