VIENTIANE, July 10 (Xinhua) -- Laos is actively working to develop workforce skills and prepare its labor force for both domestic and international markets, aiming to improve job opportunities, income, and overall welfare for young people.
The Lao Skills Development Institute and the Lao Employment Business Association are partnering to create a supportive environment for young people of all ethnic groups across the country to access skills training and develop into a capable, industry-ready workforce, Lao National Radio reported on Thursday.
To promote skills development and expand job opportunities for young people across Laos, the Lao Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare is encouraging all relevant sectors to work together in creating a supportive environment where youth can access training, develop an industrial mindset, and pursue pathways to decent jobs, stable incomes, and improved welfare.
The initiative also offers free consultation and guidance on skills development and employment opportunities, particularly for young people from remote areas who often lack access to information about further education and vocational training. This project aims to bridge that gap and ensure that all youth receive the support they need.
